1st time we went to Bukit Tinggi, Pahang despite the rumors of earthquake

Our 1st time honeymoon at Cameron Highlands.

I just had to with the hat.

East Coast Mall. During the days Edi worked in Kemaman.

Independence Day in Kemaman, Terengganu,

It's 5.32p.m and I am very sleepy. I refuse to take a nap cause it's late in the evening. If it is 3.30p.m I might doze off for a bit. So instead of napping, I"ll update my blog about non other but old stories.

This is about Bukit Gambang Waterpark which is in Gambang, Pahang. I first went to this place when Edi had a meeting there. It was during a school holiday so I was in KL at that time. So we both went to Gambang. Edi's driver drove us. Yup, back then he had a driver, but not anymore. We stayed at the Caribbean Bay Suites. It's an apartment. When Edi went for his meeting, I went around the park alone. Just to see the surrounding. After feeling bored, I just chilled in our apartment. The food was okay. Anyway, we did not stay long, just 1 night. I did not bring my swim wear that time, so no splashing around for me.

The second time was last year when, again, I went to accompany the form 3 students after their PMR. There were 3 other teachers, Asri, Cikgu Ya and Kak Nas. This time I was determined to get in the water. It was fun. But to tell you the truth, I think Sunway Lagoon is much better. But of course it is much expensive. I had a great time nevertheless. Felt young all over again.

The third time was early this year. Again to accompany form 1 and 2 students for their yearly trip. Told you that I'm the tour teacher, tetap dan berpencen. Heh! Yeah, I had fun as well. But since everything is the same, it was kind of boring. In fact, the 2nd time I went there was just a few months back. Too soon if you ask me!

If anyone invite me to go there again now, I am sure to say no! Please let us go somewhere else.

First time

Second time. With one of the sportsman in school.

Third time. With one of the students from my class, 2 Zubir Al-Awwam

viSit pHuket ThaiLanD..

I went to Phuket in 2010 with my friends, Azida and Amy. This trip is actually sponsored by one of Azida's vendor. I think I can say that here now. They sponsored her plus 2. Azida wanted to bring her husband and son. But because of a few difficulties, Amy and I were the lucky ones instead. We only had to bring money for food and shopping. The trip was for 3D2N.

We arrived Phuket in the evening. 1st thing we did was looked for a rental car. It sure made us easier to move around Phuket. We checked in our hotel later after that. After freshen up, we went to see Phuket's life during night time. We drove around town. We looked for dinner as well. We only had a simple dinner which we bought from street vendor. We didn't even go to any restaurant because we did not know where to find halal food. We also did a little shopping at Bangla Road. The place is like Jln TAR back in Malaysia.  That night, something happened. I don't remember who broke the iron in our room. We ran down to the store to buy a strong glue. Fixing the iron unprofessionally, I say we did a good job concealing our mishap.

The next day after breakfast and checking out, we went to Bangla Road again. This time, we really did our shopping. Amy was the funniest of all. She bargained until the shop owner chased us away. That was a once in life experience. They also became mad at us until they remembered us. In the end, Amy won. They sold the dresses at Amy's price. Actually, when we went to Phuket, it was off season. Rainy season. They did not have many customers, so they did not have any choice but to agree. Even we did our shopping in the rain. We had to buy a raincoat. After that we went to Wat Naka, some sort of a market that sells a variety of things. According to the map we had, it has 1001 stalls. On the way here, we saw a disaster where an electric pole fell down due to the storm. We bought our lunch there with a muslim woman. I remember I bought my accessories at Wat Naka. Later in the evening, we checked in our 2nd hotel, Ban Thai, which was way much better than the 1st.

The last day there, we had breakfast in our room. Maggi is always preferred when you travel. Then we checked out to go to Bangla Road again. We wanted to buy some souvenirs. Later we headed to a massage parlor. It would not be a trip to Thailand without the massage, right? Of course Thai ladies massage us. I slept lightly all trough the massage. I can hear Amy talking to her masseuse. After our massage we went to Wat Naka again to buy some food. And it rained again!! Iskk. So what we did was we went to a shopping mall instead. It is called Central Festival. We did not buy anything here as the price is quite the same back in Malaysia. But I think Azida bought a cooking utensil here.

Later in the evening, we drove back to the airport. Our flight was during the night and we had our dinner in flight. All in all, I think this trip is one of a kind. We girls had much fun together despite the rain, the argument with the shop owner, the 'hardship' to find food, the 1st hotel and its bad service, the iron incident and more.

One oF The JobS aT SchooL..

At school, I have to train the choral speaking team. Each year. It started on my 2nd year of teaching, until now. The first time, our team got the 3rd place, despite our 1st time entering such competition. As I remembered, the title was Handphones. I wrote the script with another teacher, Kak Ita, who has retired now. We trained the students almost every evening. But I had fun.

The second time, I think I borrowed the script from a friend from Kedah. She is also a teacher and actively participates in the same competition. Plus she likes to write. It's about teenagers. We changed the title to Teenagers Blues, as the KP wanted to. I didn't but who am I to say no. Surprise surprise as we won the competition. We were the champion for district level. When we went to state level, we did not win. But we still had a blast time.

The third year, I had to come up with the script alone. Great!! May I remind you that I'm not a writer, I am more of a reader. Above it all, the competition changed it's format from choral speaking to speech choir. What is speech choir, you may wonder..? It is still choral speaking but we have to add songs to the script. Just great right? The school's lucky I do listen to music. Well, it took me awhile to do the script. When I finally finished my script entitled Love, my KP, again, changed here and there. @.@

After practicing for about 2-3 months, we went to compete at a school nearby. And yes! We won again for the district level. Lucky us! That year, the competition was being sponsored by the Yayasan Sultan Mizan. Because we had won the district level, we got to have lunch with the Sultan himself at Taman Tamadun Islam Hall, together with other district winners. Of course, he sat at his place far away. But sadly, we still didn't win the state level. Marang won that year.

This year, again, it was speech choir competition, and again, I had to come up with the script. Frankly, I'm getting tired of doing the job year after year when somebody else seems to get the credit. I like to lay low, you see. So this year I asked help from another teacher in my school. I refuse to write alone this time. So we came up with Hopes and Dreams. Personally I like Love better than Hopes and Dreams. There were ups and downs during our training sessions. Students attitude, tiredness, etc.

Unfortunately, this year we only managed to get 3rd place during the district level competition. Penalty because we moved too much. I wonder who asked them to move excessively..? Hmm.. It wasn't me. A part of me was a bit glad because we did not have to go through practice all over again like previous years to prepare ourselves for the state level. I was sick of it by then. I don't know how I am suppose to face this again next year. I don't enjoy writing scripts. But taking from internet or somewhere else is not authentic, and I hate that more.

The script was Teenage Blues, district level.

This was last year, and I love the script Love.

This was after dinner with the Agong. =)

Harta KarUn LamA 5...

Overexcited to go on an island trip. Padahal belakang umah jer.

We just came back from Kelantan, visiting Kemat and family.

This is way back when Adam wasn't born yet. We had dinner at Midvalley.

Back then, Friendster was the it thing. Nowadays, Facebook is. I think it still is. Friendster Cafe, Damansara Perdana.

Again, before the island trip. We had to wait for our boat. This was what I did.

Not sO cooL CameroN...

This was taken last year in March. I went back to Taiping for the school holiday. The family decided that the weather was so hot and they wanted to go to Cameron Highlands. As all of us know, it should be cooler there. After Abah booked an apartment for us, we went there straight away. How shocking we were to find that even Cameron Highland was not cool enough. We still felt the heat. We did not have to wear sweater or layered shirts. As you can see, I was wearing my strip inner, the one I usually wear to cover my arms when I wear short sleeves. The sun was hot, the sky was clear blue. I think I sweat a little. So much for a cool get away!

That daY We becamE JapanEse..

I really want to go to Japan. Even though I don't know the language and from what I've heard, they don't speak English well either. People are so into K-Pop until they want to go to Korea. But I don't feel the same way. I'm not into K-Pop and I refused to be influenced.

Anyway, the dream is still a dream. Maybe one fine day I can go to Japan. Not so soon, I suppose. Last weekend, on the last day of my Raya holiday, me and Edi went to Jusco, One Utama. It seems that the Jusco had reopen their business for raya. I didn't know that. If I had known, I won't drag Edi to Midvalley the weekend before. The crowd must have been huge, I presume.

At first, we wanted to have lunch at Jusco's food court. But Edi suddenly had a change of heart when he saw another food court one level up. There are more variety of food. Different from the ordinary food court. When we surveyed the food, my tummy was grumbling louder. We could not decide what to choose. After a few minutes, we tried to secure a table. It was full house due to weekend. Finally we decided on our lunch. Edi had some sort of pizza/pasta with cuttlefish. I chose a set of Bento with fish and chicken. After eating the lunch, Edi still wanted something to eat. We bought a few sushis.

As for Jusco itself, major changes were done. We could feel the difference between the old interior and the new one. We felt like we never been to Jusco before when actually Jusco is like the mini market at the back of our house. Jakun tak pasal-pasal.

Edi's Okonom Iyaki (Sotong)

Satisfied, let's go home
