I went to Phuket in 2010 with my friends, Azida and Amy. This trip is actually sponsored by one of Azida's vendor. I think I can say that here now. They sponsored her plus 2. Azida wanted to bring her husband and son. But because of a few difficulties, Amy and I were the lucky ones instead. We only had to bring money for food and shopping. The trip was for 3D2N.
We arrived Phuket in the evening. 1st thing we did was looked for a rental car. It sure made us easier to move around Phuket. We checked in our hotel later after that. After freshen up, we went to see Phuket's life during night time. We drove around town. We looked for dinner as well. We only had a simple dinner which we bought from street vendor. We didn't even go to any restaurant because we did not know where to find halal food. We also did a little shopping at Bangla Road. The place is like Jln TAR back in Malaysia. That night, something happened. I don't remember who broke the iron in our room. We ran down to the store to buy a strong glue. Fixing the iron unprofessionally, I say we did a good job concealing our mishap.
The next day after breakfast and checking out, we went to Bangla Road again. This time, we really did our shopping. Amy was the funniest of all. She bargained until the shop owner chased us away. That was a once in life experience. They also became mad at us until they remembered us. In the end, Amy won. They sold the dresses at Amy's price. Actually, when we went to Phuket, it was off season. Rainy season. They did not have many customers, so they did not have any choice but to agree. Even we did our shopping in the rain. We had to buy a raincoat. After that we went to Wat Naka, some sort of a market that sells a variety of things. According to the map we had, it has 1001 stalls. On the way here, we saw a disaster where an electric pole fell down due to the storm. We bought our lunch there with a muslim woman. I remember I bought my accessories at Wat Naka. Later in the evening, we checked in our 2nd hotel, Ban Thai, which was way much better than the 1st.
The last day there, we had breakfast in our room. Maggi is always preferred when you travel. Then we checked out to go to Bangla Road again. We wanted to buy some souvenirs. Later we headed to a massage parlor. It would not be a trip to Thailand without the massage, right? Of course Thai ladies massage us. I slept lightly all trough the massage. I can hear Amy talking to her masseuse. After our massage we went to Wat Naka again to buy some food. And it rained again!! Iskk. So what we did was we went to a shopping mall instead. It is called Central Festival. We did not buy anything here as the price is quite the same back in Malaysia. But I think Azida bought a cooking utensil here.
Later in the evening, we drove back to the airport. Our flight was during the night and we had our dinner in flight. All in all, I think this trip is one of a kind. We girls had much fun together despite the rain, the argument with the shop owner, the 'hardship' to find food, the 1st hotel and its bad service, the iron incident and more.
