iPoh Lunch..

During the Chinese New Year holiday, we went to Ipoh. Edi had a meeting with his friends. They went for a meeting, I just waited for them to finish. While doing so, I went online to update the blog and continued to watch The Big Bang Theory.  Without realizing it, they had finished their meeting.

After a few photo shoots, we went out for lunch at a mamak restaurant called Vanggey. The lunch was great. The crowd was great. At first I thought the restaurant was closed due to the holiday. Surprisingly, it was opened with customers.

MUkha..

Yesterday, we went out for dinner at this place. It is called Mukha. The restaurant has been there for so long, but we only went there yesterday for the first time. The restaurant is just a stone's throw away from home.

The food is based on Arab dishes. The taste was marvelous. But for me, the portion was small. I thought the Arabians eat big portion. I was ready for a full plate feast. But it turned out after dinner, I still felt hungry.

Other than the food, the decoration was amazing. I like how the owner decorates the restaurant and giving it a classic look. There were also a lot of vintage stuff that were used to decorate the place. Of course I was excited and snapped a lot of photos of Mukha.

If you want to go eat there, I do recommend you to do so. It is near Maybank TTDI. You won't miss it!

31sT birthDay..

As promised, I am going to blog about my birthday celebration. It was just between me and Edi. Usually we will go somewhere grand to have dinner to celebrate the special day.

This year, when Edi asked me where I wanted to eat, I really can't think of any place to go. After thinking about it for awhile, I decided that we will just eat at home and go have a snack or dessert somewhere. Baskin-Robbins crossed my mind. I always here about their ice cream cake but never had one before.

At first we wanted to go to One Utama, but changed our mind. We went to The Curve instead. It was CNY holiday, so there crowd was small. Most of KL citizen had gone back to their village, I presume. There were a few ice cream cakes to choose from. Most of them were strawberry flavoured. There were chocolate and vanilla. I chose strawberry as the cake was cute. At first we thought that we would not be able to finish the whole cake because we just had dinner.

But surprise surprise!! We finished the cake in one sitting. We thought we had to bring back the cakes, but no. Everything was gone before it melted! One word to summarize : Yummy!!

The number of flavours in Baskin-Robbins is 31.. same as my age this year. =D

Do I look 31?

cAt maGnEt...

I have always been into animals. As long as I can remember, I do love animals. Especially the ones we can cuddle. I know I got this from my late father. He loved animals as well. I also know that one of my brothers also loves animals. He had a variety of pets before he got married.

When I was staying in Terengganu, there was always cats around the house. I did not go out looking for cats, nor did I buy any of them. But apparently the stray cats just came to the house. I am the kind of person who can't see animals, especially cats, without giving them food. I always feel pity for the animals. So when I start giving food to the cats, of course they will come back or stay there because they know there are food available.

If I remember correctly, the oldest cat that I had was Atan. He was 7 years old when he died. He was forced to go away at one point because there was this other alpha male conquering the area. But Atan did come back now and then. What touched my heart most was Atan came back home to die. According to my mother, Atan had not been home for a very long time. Then suddenly out of the blue, early in the morning, my mother found Atan, lying dead at our gate. I was in KL at that time, studying. ='(

Anyway, now that I have moved to KL ( how many times have I mentioned this..?), I thought that I will not have cats anymore. I mean, there is no friendly stray cats around the neighbourhood. How wrong was I about that. Lookie here...

See who likes the cat most

Yup, I can't help it. When cats come to me. I'll give them food. When they get food, they will always come here. I am a cat magnet.

hOmemaDe ayAm penYEt..

It has been awhile since Edi and I wanted to cook our own ayam penyet at home. We have been to my sister-in-law's shop (Dapur Penyet) a lot. So we decided to try at home. After, I don't know.. a few months maybe, we finally tried it last weekend.

Edi did most of the cooking. I assisted him. Edi combined the recipe that he has and the recipe that he found from the internet. I must say, it turned out fine. It was delicious. Edi said it tasted just like from the restaurant.

So, this is how the dinner looked like.

The plan was to go to Pasar Besar Taman Tun Dr Ismail in the morning to buy groceries for the week. But someone woke up late and we couldn't go because it was too late already. So we opt to go to Sunway Pyramid instead for lunch. It has been quite awhile since we last went there.

I have always been wanting to go to this restaurant at Sunway Pyramid called Full House. I've been reading in blogs about the restaurant. So yesterday was the day we ate at this restaurant. The food was nice and the price was reasonable. But I think I won't be going there again anytime soon. Maybe if I happen to go to Sunway Pyramid again, I might consider eating there.  That's my opinion. But the restaurant has an interesting decor that makes people want to dine-in there. Thumbs up for that!

After that, I went in Body Shop. My mom had given me some money for me to spend on my birthday present. I really don't know what to buy actually. Perfumes are much more expensive. I was thinking of buying something from MAC or Clinique. But I couldn't decide what to buy. Shoes, tops, accessories.. all of those seemed ordinary. So finally I decided to buy make up from Body Shop. I was looking at the lipsticks but no colour was appealing to me. I was looking at all the colors for quite some time until one of the promoter came and suggested a colour for me. I still could not make up my mind.

So instead of buying, Edi and I headed to Haagen Dazs to treat ourselves. I chose Strawberry Cheesecake flavor while Edi chose something caramel. I really can't remember the name. After the treat, I went to Body Shop again and I came out with a mascara. So much of "deep thinking" about the lipsticks. Then, we bought a few things from Jusco and we went home.

Actually we wanted to buy groceries at Giant, Kota Damansara. I have not been there before. But we ended up going to Carrefour, Subang. I like it there. There were a lot of things available there, unlike Tesco Extra in Shah Alam which I went last time. But the store itself was quite a frustrating experience for me. Some corners were narrow and dark. Plus the escalator was broken so we had to make a detour which complicates us a bit. We were not familiar with the place, so that happened.
